Data analytics encompasses the computational and the statistical skills required to use data in support of sound business decision-making.  We are looking to hire candidates to work on multitude of challenging analytics problems in our fuels and lubricants business.  Select areas of application for this work include commercial, trading, sales, pricing, and forecasting.

Job Responsibilities:

Use data visualization, statistical analysis (classification, regression, Bayesian techniques, etc.), time-series, and machine learning – along with domain knowledge and subject-specific models – to support business decisions across multiple functions such as commercial, pricing, and trading;

Assist formulation and scoping of new projects or enhancements to existing tools/models
Contribute to all stages of data analytics or decision modeling development, deployment, and support;

Exploratory data analysis and visualization, programming with an emphasis on scripting languages, data extraction/transformation/loading, and data filtering and quality control;

Create tutorials, documentation, training material, and case studies;

Develop technical reports and presentations;

Interact and present results / insights to business partners;

Experience and Qualifications:

Quantitative Master’s or PhD degree from a recognized university in one of the following disciplines: Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science,  Physics or Science with significant experience in data science

Professional work experience: 

Minimum two years applied data science experience
·       In depth knowledge of statistical analysis (classification, regression, Bayesian techniques, etc.), time-series, and machine learning techniques is required. Prior work experience in applying the above technologies for predictive analytics is required.

Experience in Python, MATLAB, or R is required

Excellent communication skills and experience working in a collaborative environment is required

Knowledge of numerical methods for linear algebra and optimization is an advantage

Experience in technical software development is an advantage

Experience working in Linux and in a High Performance Computing environment is an advantage

Previous work experience in the downstream oil and gas industry, or quantitative trading / pricing is an advantage
